Getting Started
Do children need any prior drama experience? +
Not at all! We welcome students with all levels of theatrical backgrounds into our classes and our tutors are skilled at making our classrooms a comfortable, yet challenging, learning space for all students.
Where can I find specific class information? +
After you enrol, you will be sent an enrolment pack that provides detailed and specific information such as a site map for classes at Manly West SS, procedures to get to and from class, and group learning objectives.
Term Classes
What happens each term? +
Term 1 focuses on a unit of drama suitable for the age group, realised through games and exercises. Terms 2 and 3 are our production terms — students rehearse an original production and perform in a formal showcase at the end of Term 3. In Term 4 students engage in another unit of drama, with a particular focus on teamwork and connection with peers. Term 4 concludes with a fun and informal performance.
What happens if my child misses a class? +
Life happens! We ask you to let us know in advance where possible. We don't offer refunds for individual missed classes, but we do our best to keep your child up to speed.
What is the Brisbane Drama Festival? +
The Brisbane Drama Festival is an optional add-on for students who are eager for more stage time. An additional weekly class is required during Terms 2 and 3 to prepare. Let us know at enrolment if your child is interested and we'll find a suitable class time.
Holiday Workshops
Can my child attend a holiday workshop without being enrolled in term classes? +
Yes! Holiday workshops are a great standalone experience and a brilliant way to try BE Creative for the first time. No prior drama experience is needed.
Where are holiday workshops located? +
We run workshops at both our Manly West SS and Moorooka Studio locations. Our final showcases are at the theatre at Manly West SS, so Moorooka workshoppers will need to head there for the final performance day.
What should my child bring to a holiday workshop? +
Lunch, a water bottle, hat, and comfortable clothes they can move in. A big imagination helps too!
Birthday Parties
How do I book a party? +
Submit an expression of interest via the provided booking form. We'll be in touch within 3 business days to confirm and discuss details.
Can parties be hosted at other venues? +
Yes! We are flexible to run our events from your home, a nearby park, a hall, a function space, or wherever else you plan on hosting your event. Just let us know what sort of space we will be working in when we confirm party details.
What is the cancellation policy for parties? +
A 20% deposit is required to secure your booking and is non-refundable if cancellation occurs within 10 days of the event. If BE Creative needs to cancel, a full refund is issued. See our Terms & Conditions for full details.
Payments & Enrolment
How do I pay? +
Payment options are detailed in our enrolment form. We offer term payments and in some cases payment plans for families who need flexibility — just ask us.
When is enrolment due? +
Enrolment deadlines vary by term — check the Term Dates section on our Term Classes page for the current deadlines. We recommend enrolling early as spots are limited.
